Respiratory Therapist

A respiratory therapist is a specialized healthcare practitioner trained in critical care and cardio-pulmonary medicine in order to work therapeutically with people who have acute critical conditions, cardiac and pulmonary disease. Respiratory therapists sometimes graduate from a college or university with a degree in respiratory therapy and have passed a national board certifying examination. 

Certified Nursing Assistant

A CNA or certified nursing assistant is an important position in any hospital setting. CNAs have many responsibilities that make them an integral part of the patient process in healthcare. There are many duties for nursing assistants. A certified nursing assistant helps patients with direct health care needs, often under the supervision of a nurse.

Certified nursing assistants may also be called a nursing assistant, a nurse’s aid, or a patient care assistant. CNAs work directly with patients and nurses, helping with the many physical and complex tasks for patient care. 

Medical Technologist

The Medical Technologist (MT) performs a wide-range of diagnostic testing. The Medical Technologist brings forth the specialized scientific and technical knowledge essential to perform most analytical testing in the Clinical Laboratory. They are responsible for the interpretation and reporting of lab tests.

Medical Laboratory Technician

Medical Laboratory Technicians perform medical laboratory tests for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.

Medical Laboratory Technicians perform tests and procedures that physicians and surgeons or other healthcare practitioners order, ranging from specialized to more routine testing.

Radiation Technologist / X-Ray Technologist

X-ray Technologists take x-rays of patients’ internal anatomy to aid physicians in diagnosing illnesses, diseases, or injuries. They explain x-ray procedures to patients and ensure that patients are exposed to limited amounts of radiation.


A sonographer is an allied healthcare professional who specializes in the use of ultrasonic imaging devices to produce diagnostic images, scans, videos or three-dimensional volumes of anatomy and diagnostic data. 

Radiation Sonographer

Radiation Sonographers work includes operating imaging equipment, and reviewing images to be sure they are of good quality and helpful for diagnosis. Identifying normal and abnormal imaging results, communicating a summary of the results to physicians or other health professionals, and alerting physicians to urgent problems.
