275,000

Additional Nurses Needed by 2030

According to an article in the Nursing Times, The US Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that more than 275,000 additional nurses are needed from 2023 to 2030. Employment opportunities for nurses are projected to grow at a faster rate (9%) than all other occupations through 2026.

9%

Job Growth through 2030

The United States was projected to experience a nine percent growth in available jobs for registered nurses from 2023 to 2030. This was driven by an aging population and shifting sites of care for patients, creating the need for more nurses. The pandemic accelerated potential workforce shortages, according to our survey results. Research indicates a gap of 200,000 to 450,000 nurses nationwide by 2025.
